KHOST, Jan. 25 – The construction of the Chekdam Zorkot project in Khost province has begun, with a total value of approximately 900,000 Afghanis, said ministry of energy and water.

This project is located in the Musa Khel district of Khost province and has a value of 872,212 Afghanis. The construction process started in the presence of esteemed Mawlawi Abdul Qayyum Thabit, the head of the marine sub-district of Shamal Khorram Khost, along with his technical team.

 

The Mesid Construction Company is responsible for building the check dam, which is being funded by the Ministry of Water and Energy. The dam will be 20 meters long, including a 5-meter-high base and a 3-meter-wide bed. Additionally, its upper part will measure 60 cm.

 

This project has created job opportunities for dozens of workers. Once completed, it will help replenish underground water sources and protect tens of acres of agricultural land from the risks of floods.

Furthermore, the check dam will have a storage capacity of 4,500 cubic meters of water.
