KABUL, July. 26 – Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat has developed a five-year strategic plan for renewable energy, said a statement by DABS for government accountability program.

 

The leadership of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat has shared the annual report of major achievements of the last year in the context of the accountability program of the government to the nation at Government Information and Media Center. The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Engineer Safiullah Ahmadzai, revealed that they have prepared a five-year strategic plan for renewable energy with a total capacity of 710 megawatts to provide electricity from internal sources, and survey, design, and installation works of new Chimtal substation have been completed by Afghan engineers.

Mr. Ahmadzai furthermore added that Kajaki-Kandahar 110 KV line with a length of 170 kilometers was built by Afghan engineers, increasing its energy transmission capacity from 30 to 85 megawatts, costing only $3.5 million instead of the estimated $20 million by a foreign company.

Moreover, respected Ahmadzai added that he has held comprehensive talks with the World Bank and related donors to carry out the remaining works of the Casa-1000 regional project and Shebarghan-Alwan desert project up to Arghandi, which will have good results.

 

He also mentioned the research of 220 and 110 KV imported electricity and the basic reconstruction of production factories, which were carried out last year by the professional engineers of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, which brought more financial benefits to the electricity company. Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Rahmani, head of commercial affairs of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, revealed that they are working hard for the reconstruction and economic strengthening of the country, and despite the difficult conditions and financial problems, Breshna Sherkat has made significant progress in many areas. Respected Rahmani moreover added that Last year, they collected 33 billion Afghanis in revenue from customers and registered 46,384 unregistered meters in the electricity billing system for transparency.

Furthermore, he added that S-Breshna system of Billing has been expanded in 28 provinces of the country, and due to this many facilities have been created for the customers.

Respected Hikmatullah Maiwandi, spokesman of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, said to the media that in Kabul, Nangarhar, Parwan, and Baghlan provinces, 1,496 acres of immovable land and 46 residential buildings and houses related to electricity in Kabul and Balkh provinces were recovered from the usurpers.

At the end of the Conference, DABS briefly explained the 1402 plan, which includes 44 major and important electricity projects across the country.
