BALKH, Mar. 18 – Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate early Sunday drove back an enemy ground operation backed by aerial support in Chamtal district of Balkh province, forcing the enemy to retreat with fata losses, according to Al-Emarah News reports.

It added the operation lasted more than 24 hours in which 8 enemy soldiers were killed and 6 more suffered injuries.

An armored tank and a vehicle were destroyed in the operation, while two Mujahideen fighters suffered injuries in the fighting.

Early Saturday, a roadside bomb blast killed a border police and left two more wounded when it detonated under the vehicle carrying the enemy to a military unit in Chamtal district of Balkh province.
