KABUL, Aug. 27 – The meeting between the IEA and Uzbekistan’s representatives was opened by the honorable Mawlawi Qadratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the IEA, and Mr. Nazemjan Khalmradov, First Deputy of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan in presence of delegation from the IEA representatives, the Afghan private sector, and the Uzbekistan.

Respected Mawlawi Qadratullah Jamal saw Uzbekistan as a nice neighbor and requested that they invest in Afghanistan because the environment is conducive to investment.

The high transit fees for Afghanistan’s export goods, the rise in customs activity, the granting of business visas to the country’s businessmen, the tripartite meetings between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, the completion of the agreement between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, and the export of Afghan goods to that Uzbekistan were all topics covered by Mr. Mawlawi Jamal.

Mr. Nazimjan Khalmaradov thanked for hospitality the Uzbek delegation in Kabul and provided details about their meeting with the Afghan private sector and Minister of Industry and Trade Alhaj Nuruddin Azizi as well as their cooperation in the fields of mining and agriculture as well as other departments.

He said that the topics raised at the meeting would be conveyed to authorities of his country.
Speaking on behalf of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Honorable Mohammad Younis Mohmand and Honorable Khairuddin Mayel endorsed the remarks made by Honorable Maulvi Qadratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
