KABUL, Jan. 24 – United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths leading a high level delegation called on Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IEA, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi on Monday, says deputy spokesman of the ministry of foreign affairs.

Mr. Martin, the head of the delegation, which included Sofia Sprichman, Secretary General of “Care” International Charity Foundation, Omar Abdi, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, Janati Soripto, President of “Save the Children” Foundation, expressed their satisfaction on the effective security situation of Afghanistan.

Mr Giraffiths said that due to good security, we have been able to take our services to all corners of the country and announced the highest amount of aid worth 4.6 billion dollars to Afghanistan in 2023 and its distribution to 28 million citizens.

In addition to this, the United Nations Vice President shared his concerns about women’s work and education and their impact on their work.

The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude about the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and the high-ranking delegation and added that Afghanistan is a part of the international community, and the United Nations has a great responsibility to play a constructive role in bringing Afghanistan and the world closer together.

FM Muttaqi added that we sated an example of general amnesty that has no example in contemporary history. Muttaqi Sahib asked the delegation to share the latest achievements and opportunities in Afghanistan with the international community.

Mr. Muttaqi listened to the concerns of the visiting delegation and thanked them for resuming the activities of the “Care” institution.
