Ulama (religious scholars) and some tribal elders from Andarab and Pol-e-Khomri districts of Baghlan province met with Maulana Abdul Kabir, the deputy prime minister in the presidential palace.

Mullah Dad-e-Khuda, Maulana Saqi Mohammad and Haji Mohammad Laqa spoke on behalf of religious scholars and tribal elders.

They showed concern about the soldiers of the former regime of Andarab and Pul-e-Khumri who had not yet surrendered, either fled to neighboring Tajikistan or spent the night in the mountains.

Even though they admit that the Islamic Emirate has declared gender amnesty, certain military forces part of the former regime fear that the Taliban may violate Amir al-Mumineen’s amnesty decree and harm them.

Haji Sahib Mohammad Laqa insisted that they come to their villages from Tajikistan and the Andarab Mountains and live in the arms of the Islamic Emirate.

Maulana Abdul Kabir, , described their concerns as deep and serious, assuring them that every citizen of Afghanistan was safe from the Emirate under the Amir al-Momineen decree, and that everyone should be granted amnesty and they should take advantage of it.

He added that Hindus, Sikhs and people of different religions living in different parts of Afghanistan are part of the country and the Islamic Emirate will protect them and they have every right as citizens as long as they comply with the laws of the Islamic Emirate.

Maulana Abdul Kabir also reassured that the Islamic Emirate would not mind anyone coming to Afghanistan to live under the umbrella of the Emirate.

Religious scholars and tribal elders from Andarab promised to bring their children to the Emirate, and have their weapons handed over to the Islamic Emirate.
