The Afghan Red Crescent Society in Herat has unveiled two water supply networks equipped with solar systems in the Shindand district, with financial backing from the International Federation. These projects, exceeding 3.5 million Afghanis in cost, were officially launched during a ceremonial event.

Dr. Abdul Basir Rahmani, the Regional Director of the Western Zone, stated that these initiatives were initiated to ensure the provision of clean and sustainable drinking water to the inhabitants of the Shorab and Sarband localities.

During the inauguration of these projects, the Regional Director of the Western Zone underscored the significance of maintaining and effectively utilizing these networks, mentioning that approximately 650 families will benefit from the new water facilities.

Residents of the Shorab and Sarband areas expressed their appreciation to the Afghan Red Crescent, noting that the inauguration of these water supply networks has completely resolved their challenges in accessing potable water.
