Today, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Cenk Unal, held a meeting with the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

During this session, detailed discussions transpired concerning the political and economic ties between the two nations. Commencing the dialogue, the Foreign Minister extended a warm welcome to the Afghan delegation’s participation in the Halal Exhibition in Turkey. He also acknowledged the recent meeting held in Turkey regarding the Lapis Lazuli Road’s activities, emphasizing its significance in enhancing trade relations between Afghanistan and Turkey. The Foreign Minister conveyed gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for its positive contributions in this regard.

Honorable Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi provided a favorable assessment of the current status of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Turkey. He expressed optimism that both countries can move forward collaboratively by taking additional constructive measures.

The Turkish Ambassador highlighted that the Afghan Minister of Commerce is presently in Turkey leading a delegation. Apart from engaging in the Halal Exhibition, this delegation has conducted productive discussions with their Turkish counterparts on bilateral trade matters.

Furthermore, the Turkish Ambassador conveyed his country’s optimistic view on the relationship with Afghanistan. He expressed hope for the continual enhancement of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
