Trilateral Meeting of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan Held in Kabul

The trilateral meeting involving representatives from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan was convened under the leadership of Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan. Attendees included Mr. Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment of Uzbekistan, and Mr. Mamedov, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, focusing on trade, investment, transport, construction materials, and geological exploration.

Key topics of discussion encompassed trade enhancement, investment collaboration, transport and logistics partnerships, geological surveys of hydrocarbon and mineral reserves, the execution of a cement production project in northern Afghanistan, regional cooperation, optimizing the Silk Road, new railway initiatives, and Afghanistan’s involvement in the ECO Economic Organization.

Delegates were updated on mining activities in Afghanistan, investment prospects within the mining sector, and Afghanistan’s priorities. The meeting concluded with agreements on future regular gatherings, scheduling of the next meeting, and the establishment of a joint working team comprising representatives from the three nations.
