According to the National Information and Statistics Authority (NISA), approximately 4.83 million metric tons of wheat have been harvested nationwide this year, marking a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year.

 

The authority reports that wheat was cultivated on 2.12 million hectares of land in the country this year, with 1.38 million hectares under irrigation and 736 thousand hectares under dry farming.

 

As per the Statistics and Information Agency, the provinces with the highest acreage of irrigated wheat include Helmand, Kandahar, Farah, and Kunduz, while Takhar, Herat, Badghis, and Faryab provinces lead in dry wheat cultivation.
