The Righteousness of Taliban Leaders

Although, a man may bear all kinds of hardships on himself, he cannot bear even the slightest distress on his children. Conventionally, every leader wants a comfortable life for his children and family, but a true leader is someone who chooses the lifestyle of his followers for his own kin too.

This month Abdul Haq Umari was martyred. He was the youngest son of Mawlawi Muhammad Nabi Umari, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee, prominent member of the political office of the Islamic Emirate and member of the peace negotiation team. It is an example of purity, strong faith and sincerity of our leaders, who send their sons to the frontlines of jihad alongside other Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate.

Mawlawi Muhammad Nabi Umari, sacrificing his son for our religion, country and values is not unusual in the Islamic Emirate’s leadership. The leaders of the Islamic Emirate have always first sacrificed their own children before calling upon others. We have many examples before us. Amir-ul-Momineen Shiekh Hibatullah Akhundzada’s brilliantly talented young son Abdur Rehman Khalid performed a martyrdom operation, and as a result achieved the high status of martyrdom. The son Ustad Yasir (R.H) by the name of Abdullah was a martyrdom seeker and achieved the high status of martyrdom in a drone strike on their training camp. Other prominent leaders like Mawlawi Jalaluddin Haqqani (may Allah have mercy on him) sacrificed four of his sons for the cause of freedom of Afghanistan. Leadership council member and head of the negotiating team of the Islamic Emirate, the esteemed Sheikh Abdul Hakim Haqqani (may Allah protect him) sacrificed his family members and eldest son for the noble cause of Jihad. The list can carry on with many other such examples during the ongoing struggle against foreign aggression.

Those people who have lived closely with Mujahideen leaders and have spent time with them are well acquainted with the character, sincerity, honesty and determinations of the leaders of the Islamic Emirate. Perhaps the elders and leaders of the Islamic Emirate are among the few personalities in today’s modern age who interact and associate with the ordinary Mujahideen with complete purity in their hearts and minds, and do not consider their own children superior to the rest of the Mujahideen. Almost all the senior leaders of the Islamic Emirate have gone through hardships and exhausting days, experienced months and years away from their families, and spent years in dungeons of foreign invaders away from their loved ones and their beloved children.

Even holding the highest ranks has never stopped leaders of the Islamic Emirate from their own participation in the battlefield and that of their sons and loved ones to fight alongside other Mujahideen. Serving with the Mujahideen is not based on one’s background and family, it is rather the passion for jihad and the love of martyrdom, which brings them together to the trenches of battlefields. The martyrdom of Abdul Haq Umari has once again demonstrated that the leadership of the Islamic Emirate have not only spent their own lifetime in the frontlines of the struggle but have passed down the same teachings to their children in pursuing the noble path of Jihad. The children of leaders, like their fathers, have always been ready to sacrifice their lives and endure hardships for the freedom their beloved homeland.

These sacrifices also prove the reality of the current conflict. On the one hand, we witness the leaders of the Islamic Emirate who are sacrificing their own flesh and blood for the love and the freedom of our country. On the other hand, we watch the enslaved leaders of foreigners in Kabul taking refuge behind concrete walls along with their children and would leave the people behind in the blink of an eye during hardship. This great difference between the leaders of both sides of the conflict is essentially a reflection of the level of commitment to country and people of Afghanistan.

The hard reality is that true leadership requires sacrifice, selflessness, humility, and commitment to a higher cause. Congratulations and condolences to the leaders of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the martyrdom of their sons.
