Afghanistan is one of the countries significantly affected by climate change in recent years, experiencing floods, heavy rains, and storms that have caused considerable financial and human loss.

Since taking power, the Islamic Emirate has demonstrated its commitment to standing by the nation during natural disasters, utilizing all available resources to assist the people. For instance, during the devastating floods in Baghlan province, the elders of the Islamic Emirate issued urgent orders to treat the wounded, care for the victims, and provide assistance. Even the Economic Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, was present in the province.

Regrettably, heavy rains and storms in Nangarhar province yesterday resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of our compatriots and injuries to more than 100 others. Out of a sense of responsibility, the Islamic Emirate promptly directed the relevant authorities to attend to the scene with all available resources. They were instructed to facilitate the treatment of the wounded, provide shelter to the displaced, and ensure the well-being of the general population in the affected areas.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stands with the nation in all these incidents and natural events. Particularly in the recent tragic incident in Nangarhar Province, we share in the grief and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and patience for those affected.
