A textile factory operating privately in Herat province generates over seven tons of yarn on a daily basis, which is subsequently exported overseas. The factory operates in three shifts, allowing for a daily production capacity of approximately ten tons of yarn.

Haji Zemari Shirzai, the director of the “Afghan White Gold Pakhta” factory, stated to BNA that they procure the required cotton from western and southwestern provinces post-harvest, transporting it to their facility for yarn conversion. Mr. Shirzai highlighted that the factory produces more than seven tons of yarn daily, which is exported to Iran, Turkey, and China.

The factory has created employment opportunities for over 220 individuals, as per the factory official. Meanwhile, Maulvi Bashir Mohammad Sirat, the Head of Industry and Commerce in Herat Province, expressed that the Islamic Emirate is actively working towards achieving self-sufficiency in goods production. Consequently, they are facilitating and supporting investors to foster industrial growth.
