They held discussions with key Turkmenistan officials including Ilmanov, Deputy Minister of Border Affairs, Murad Amanov, Director of the TAPI project, and a representative from the Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, both parties deliberated on issues related to setting visa requirements and working schedules for personnel involved in transporting technical staff, equipment, and machinery to Afghanistan for the TAPI project.
They also discussed the establishment of a temporary port at the Aslim Chashma border area between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan to facilitate the smooth transportation of TAPI project equipment.
The Afghan delegation expressed strong commitment to the TAPI project and deemed Turkmenistan’s proposals regarding worker mobility, equipment transportation in the border region, and official working hours as acceptable.
These agreements are set to be formalized through a memorandum exchange between the Foreign Ministries of both nations. The Turkmenistan delegation pledged to accelerate TAPI project operations and provide the necessary equipment promptly.
