All traders, money changers, stone traders and all citizens are requested to implement and strictly observe the following provisions.

1- All citizens should use their national currency, Afghani, in transactions.

2- No one can take more than $5000 through the country’s airports and more than five hundred $500 dollars through land borders in cash.

3- Anyone who transfers over the above amount, one year in jail will be charged for each million dollars, one month in jail for each hundred thousand dollars, and 10 days in jail for less than hundred thousand dollars and above the limit set in the second paragraph.

4- Any money and gold that is taken from the violators, will be kept in Afghanistan Bank until the necessary approval of the Prime Minister.

5- It is prohibited to bring into the country currencies related to the countries of the region.

6- The prevention of foreign smuggling of currency, gold, precious stones and historical relics throughout the country is the responsibility of the General Intelligence Directorate of the Islamic Emirate, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense.
