Officials in Afghanistan have reported a remarkable surge in the country’s exports to Central Asian nations, specifically Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and others, through the Torghundai port in Herat. Compared to the previous year, the volume of exports has doubled, according to Afghan officials.
In the preceding year, the port facilitated the export of 15 trucks carrying Afghan products to Central Asian countries. However, this year has witnessed a substantial increase, with the export level reaching an average of 26-30 trucks.
The exported goods primarily consist of domestic products from the industrial town of Herat, with a particular emphasis on non-alcoholic beverages. This surge in exports reflects the growing demand for Afghan products in Central Asia, highlighting the economic opportunities and potential for trade expansion in the region.
