According to Hamyoun Afghan the spokeman of the ministry of mines and petroleum The gas pipeline project from Shabarghan to Mazar-e-Sharif, funded with 609 million Afghanis by the Islamic Emirate, has achieved a completion rate of 63%. Spanning a length of 95.5 kilometers, this pipeline will have the capacity to transport 1.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.
The project is being executed by Afghan engineers, adhering to international standards.
The gas supplied through this pipeline will be utilized in Mazar-e-Sharif for electricity generation, Ghazanfar Power, glass factories, and industrial parks. These facilities will create employment opportunities for numerous citizens and contribute to Afghanistan’s pursuit of self-sufficiency in electricity, glass production, and various other sectors.
Currently, Shabarghan’s gas wells produce 650,000 cubic meters of gas daily. This gas is utilized for power supply and electricity in Aqche, Shabarghan, and other neighboring areas.
