Security forces foile planned Muharram attack as group of Daesh arrested

According to information received from a credible source, Al-Mersaad has reported that on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the special forces of the Islamic Emirate conducted a highly successful operation on an ISIS terrorist hideout located in the fifth district of Kabul city.

 

As a result of this operation, a significant number of individuals belonging to a substantial ISKP network were apprehended. Additionally, a large cache of explosives, weapons, and ammunition was seized from the hideout.

 

The captured ISIS insurgents were reportedly planning to carry out devastating attacks during the Muharram ceremony.

 

The individual responsible for overseeing this hideout is said to be an Afghan national residing in a neighboring foreign country. He was recruited by ISKP, which operates from its headquarters in Balochistan. After marrying a Pakistani woman, he underwent training and was subsequently sent to Afghanistan.

 

The source also reveals that among those apprehended is the ISIS operative responsible for an attack on a vehicle carrying Shia passengers in the “Kote Sangi” area of Kabul a few months ago.

 

It has been revealed that this network possesses a list containing the names of various religious scholars, madrassas, as well as prominent anti-government figures and politicians from Pakistan, whom the ISIS insurgents aim to eliminate. Some of these individuals have already been targeted and eliminated. Furthermore, the network has provided a list of specific targets in Afghanistan and a neighboring country.
