KUNDUZ, Feb. 06 – The restoration work on a steel bridge at one end of the Qala Zal district in Kunduz province has been successfully completed and handed over by the contractor at a cost of 4.7 million Afghanis.

The Ministry of Public Works carried out the repair project in Qala Zal District of Kunduz Province. The event marking the completion of the repair work on the Qala Zal metal bridge was attended by esteemed officials, including the governor of Kunduz province, the police chief of the province, the head of the local public works department, and several other local officials.

The bridge, measuring 120 meters in length and 8 meters in width, is a vital transportation route in Qala Zal district. It connects Sher Khan port with Daulatabad district in Balkh province and plays a significant role in the transportation of commercial goods.

 

The repair and reconstruction of the bridge were contracted to a private construction and road construction company by the Ministry of Public Works at a cost of 4,771,860 Afghanis. The project was completed within a span of approximately three months.

 

It is important to note that the repair of the Dayad Bridge has effectively resolved transportation issues for the local population compared to the previous conditions.
