Yesterday marked the inauguration of one of the most significant and crucial projects in the country—a project that may have been the long-awaited dream of the people of Afghanistan, particularly those residing in the northern region.

In the presence of esteemed representatives of the Islamic Emirate, the Salang highway was officially opened and will now be operational. This road will serve as a vital transportation link, connecting the northern, central, and southern regions of the country. Normal traffic flow will be restored, enabling flourishing trade, including exports, imports, and transfers.

Throughout its two-year journey, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has taken numerous positive strides in the construction and reconstruction of roads and embankments. It has aimed to address the lingering wounds of the past that had remained unattended despite previous opportunities.

With the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, addressing the nation’s and the country’s needs, such as road construction, dam building, and highway repairs, became a crucial priority. Under the leadership of the economic deputy economic prime minister and the diligent efforts of various ministries, particularly the Ministry of Public Works, practical initiatives were undertaken.

The reconstruction plan for the Salang highway, promising comfort to travelers, represents not only the first but also a significant project among others to come. It symbolizes the commitment of the Islamic Emirate to the welfare and progress of the country in various sectors. Recognizing the nation’s requirements, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has intensified its focus on this area, and in the future, large-scale projects like the reconstruction of the Salang highway, the Qosh Tepa canal, and dozens of others will be undertaken. By the grace of Allah almighty.
