The refurbishment and maintenance of 10 karez systems in Khost province have been successfully finalized and completed, with a total expenditure exceeding seven million Afghanis.
As stated by the media office of the Khost provincial government, the restoration and upkeep of karez systems in Ismailkhel, Nader Shah Kot, Musakhel, Sabri, Bak districts, as well as the provincial capital, have been completed at a cost of seven and a half million Afghanis, and these karez systems are now operational.
The announcement highlighted that these projects were executed under the supervision of the Khost Water and Energy Department, with financial backing from an organization that also generated employment opportunities for numerous individuals.
Per the statement, the completion of these initiatives will facilitate the irrigation of thousands of acres of land and reinforce groundwater resources.
