The repair and reconstruction efforts for the Ziri Baba and Pusht Bridges in Kunar Province have kicked off and are presently in progress.
During his recent visit to Kunar Province, the Acting Minister of Public Works, Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani, recognizing the challenges faced by the province’s residents, delegated the procurement and technical responsibilities for mending the Ziri Baba and Pusht Bridges to the respective engineers. Following the approval of the budget, the repair and reconstruction endeavors have been initiated and are currently ongoing.
The restoration of the Ziri Baba Bridge, situated in Sarkano district of the province, has commenced in collaboration with the Mutahid Safi Company, with an estimated cost of around 47 million afghanis. The project is anticipated to reach completion within a year. Similarly, the repair and reconstruction activities for the Pusht Bridge, positioned between Narang and Sarkano districts, have been contracted to the Aman Safi Construction Company, amounting to approximately 16 million afghanis. This project is projected to be finalized and operational within six months.
The construction of these bridges is poised to address the transportation challenges encountered by the inhabitants of Khas Kunar, Nur Gul, Narang, and Sarkano districts of Kunar province, offering a substantial improvement in comparison to previous conditions.
