The excavation of the second phase of the Qosh Tepa Canal has surpassed the halfway mark, with over 50 percent of the digging completed. Syed Zabiullah Amiri, the Field Officer of the Qosh Tepa Canal in Balkh province, reported that the second phase’s excavation work has reached 51 percent completion and is scheduled to be operational by the end of this year.

Officials from the National Development Company also provided updates on the construction of the dam associated with the first phase of the canal. The construction of the dam has been progressing rapidly, with 53 percent of the work completed thus far.
