Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a meeting with Dr. Tedros, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, during a visit to Saudi Arabia.

The discussions during this encounter focused on enhancing cooperation in the health sector, intensifying efforts against polio and other infectious diseases, delivering healthcare services in underserved regions of the country, involving Ministry of Public Health representatives in global health conferences and meetings, and various other significant matters.

In his address, Minister Jalali stated, “Since the Islamic Emirate assumed power, we have endeavored to boost and reinforce healthcare financing using our internal resources. Our aim is to enhance the healthcare system at the local level, gradually transition the health sector towards self-sufficiency, and fulfill the needs of the populace.”
