In a regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee held on July 30, 2024 at Marmarin Palace, a proposal was presented by the private sector for the construction of an underground commercial market from Farakhi Square to Kalasbez Square on both sides of the road in the center of Ghazni province. After comprehensive discussions in the meeting, the investment proposal was approved and referred to the Economic Commission for final approval.
According to this plan, the private sector will invest 309 million Afghanis in the market, which will include a total of 511 shops. The construction is expected to be completed within two years, providing employment opportunities for hundreds of individuals.
In this meeting, proposals were also presented for the production of 44.5 MW of electricity from coal in the Surobi district of Kabul province, the production of 10 MW of solar power in Khost, and the construction of commercial markets in Kabul and Balkh provinces. After thorough discussions the assigned committees were tasked with conducting meetings with the presenting companies to evaluate the financial, economic,and technical aspects of these proposals, and to present their reports to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee within the stipulated timeframe.
