KABUL, Sep. 13 – The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Honorable Alhaj Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund, accepted the credentials of the new Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, Mr. Zhao Sheng, during a ceremony held at ARG today.

In the ceremony the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlawi Amir Khan Mottaqi was also present, Honorable prime miniter welcomed the new Chinese ambassador.

The new Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan expressed his happiness on his new mission in Afghanistan and said, “It is a place of honor for me to start my work as the Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan. He also mentioned the virtues of the leadership of the People’s Republic of China. Wishes and greetings were presented to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Honorable Alhaji Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund.

Mr. Zhao Sheng said that China, as a good neighbor of Afghanistan, fully respects Afghanistan’s independence, territorial integrity and independence of decisions. He emphasized that China does not have a policy of interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, and does not want Afghanistan to become its sphere of influence.

The new envoy explained, we are happy that in the last two years, there have been many improvements in the fight against corruption, crimes and drugs, along with ensuring the economy and security. I will try to strengthen China-Afghanistan relations and cooperation in politics, economy and other fields he added.

The Honorable Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate appretiated the leadership of China for the appointment of Mr. Zhao Sheng as ambassador and hoped that his introduction would lead to a higher level of diplomatic relations between the two countries and it’s the beginning of a new chapter.

The Honorable Prime Minister called the relations between Afghanistan and China important and mentioned the good relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and China in the last two years after the end of the occupation and expressed hope for further steps to strengthen the bilateral relations.
