The delegation of Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) led by General President of the ARCS met with the General Director of the ICRC International Committee, the Committee’s Head in Afghanistan, and the Executive Director of the Chinese Red Cross Society.
Today, Mr. Sheikh Al-Hadith Shahabuddin Dilawar, the General President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, along with his Deputy, Mr. Hafiz Aziz Rahman, held a meeting in Kabul with Mr. Pierre Kraenbühl, the General Director of the ICRC International Committee, Ms. Katrina Reitz, the Committee’s Head in Afghanistan, and Mr. Wang Ke, the Executive Director of the Chinese Red Cross Society.
During the initial stages of the visit, Mr. Dilawar extended a warm welcome to the guests and presented a comprehensive overview of the Afghan Red Crescent’s initiatives and operations in Afghanistan. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to delivering aid from donor countries to those in need without bias and within stipulated timeframes. He also appealed to donor countries for comprehensive support for the Afghan Red Crescent’s interventions aimed at assisting vulnerable populations, orphaned families, affected individuals, and mental health patients.
Likewise, the leaders of the ICRC International Committee and the Chinese Red Cross acknowledged and lauded the Afghan Red Crescent’s activities, pledging ongoing efforts to enhance their support for this national humanitarian entity.
Moreover, the delegation visited the Central Assistance Center and the Center for the Treatment and Care of Mental Patients in Kabul to observe their operations and services.
