KABUL, Dec. 31 – Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherakt (DABS) Electricity Company CEO, Alhaji Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamza, and his delegation held meetings with Energy Minister Annagaldi Sprouf, Turkmen Energy Executive Chairman Dordi Ilyasov, and officials from Turkmen Energy’s Construction Department.

They signed the first energy supply agreement for 2024, which will provide up to 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of energy across four routes (Andkhoi, Aqeena, Badghis, and Turghondai-Herat) to prevent blackouts.

Additionally, Turkmen Energy received assurance regarding the completion of the 500 KV power transmission line from Shabarghan to Arghan, which was recently inaugurated.

Both sides discussed the purchase of more electricity from Turkmenistan through this line. The Noorul Jihad substation project in Herat province, for which the electricity and Turkmen Energy companies signed a contract, was also a topic of discussion. Turkmen Energy was urged to expedite the completion of the substation.

The Turkmen side expressed gratitude for the excellent management and leadership of Afghanistan Electricity Company under the guidance of Haji Hamza. They emphasized that since the Islamic Emirate took control, they have received timely payments, instilling hope for increased cooperation and promising further collaboration.
