KABUL, Jan. 22 – Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Political Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held a meeting with Raphaella Lodice, the Chargé d’affaires of the European Union in his office in Sepedar Palace on Sunday.
During the discussion, Ms. Lodice expressed her satisfaction with the overall security situation in Afghanistan.
She confidently stated that she had visited several provinces and closely observed the conditions of the people. She also highlighted the continuation of the European Union’s aid to Afghanistan, ensuring that humanitarian assistance is reaching the families in need without concerns of corruption.
Ms. Lodice stressed the importance of the international community’s attention and assistance in addressing the impact of climate change, recognizing Afghanistan as a victim.
The Chargé d’Affaires emphasized the need for further development of relations between Afghanistan and the European Union, emphasizing that Afghan people still require additional humanitarian aid.
Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Political Deputy Prime Minister, expressed his gratitude for the European Union’s role in Afghanistan, stating that corruption, drugs, and violence have been eliminated in the country, ISIS has been defeated, and border control has been established. Mr. Kabir emphasized the necessity of providing essential support to Afghanistan in terms of healthcare, education, and institution-building.
Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the European Union for its assistance to Afghan refugees and condemned Pakistan’s actions against them, considering them in violation of international laws.
