Local authorities in Herat province have reported that the construction of the Pashdan Dam is proceeding smoothly, with approximately 80% of the project finished to date. Mufti Sardar Wali Muzamal, the head of the Harirod river sub-district, has stated that work on the Pashdan Dam is advancing swiftly, with between 75-80% of the construction already done.

The dam is situated in Pashdan Band, Karkh district, around 25 kilometers from Herat city, and is being financed with a budget of 9 billion Afghanis from the Islamic Emirate.
