Over 2500 Refugees Return Home from Iran

KABUL, Aug. 30 – The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MORR) recently announced that 2,627 Afghan refugees had returned to Afghanistan from Iran.

According to a statement, “At least 2,627 Afghan refugees returned home, via Islam Qala ground port of the country’s western province of Herat,” and noted that 1,282 of them had been introduced to the regional Agency of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in order to receive the necessary assistance.

Tens of thousands of Afghan refugees have returned to their home country in recent days, the statement said, which has dramatically boosted the number of refugees coming back to Afghanistan from Iran.
