Officials from the Laghman provincial economic department have reported the construction of 254 significant and minor check dams across various regions of the province, amounting to over 46 million Afghanis, aimed at drought prevention.

Notably, authorities have initiated the building of one large and 150 small check dams solely in the Karanj locality of the capital, expected to irrigate vast expanses of agricultural land upon finalization.

Simultaneously, representatives of the provincial water and energy department have disclosed that since the inception of the Islamic Emirate’s governance, a total of 254 large and small check dams have been erected in diverse zones of the province.
