The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has reported that over 18 million SIM cards have been officially registered nationwide following the ATRA guidelines.
According to Enayatullah Alokozai, the ministry’s spokesperson, among the 26 million active SIM cards in Afghanistan, 18 million have been registered in compliance with regulations. The ongoing efforts to register the remaining SIM cards are progressing diligently as stated on his official page.
