Over 18 killed, equipment sized as 5 posts overrun in Shawalikot

KANDAHAR, Sep. 09 – A recent report arriving from Shawalikot district state that amid ongoing ‘Operation Omari’, Mujahideen carried out coordinate attacks on enemy positions in Kata Sang, Taghrak, Sarkhobaib areas overnight.
Attacks of heavy and light arms resulting in 5 check posts overrun, 18 gunmen killed, several others wounded and the rest successfully escaped.
2 RPG launchers, 1 heavy machine gun, 2 rifles and various other war toll were confiscated.
Tarinkot road is fully blocked off for enemy in the area.
2 Mujahideen are said to have been wounded as 2 others embraced martyrdom in the operation.
