SAMANGAN, July. 18 – According to the head of information and culture of Samangan province, as many as 160 foreign tourists have visited the ancient sites of the province during past 4 months.
Mohammad Amin Azizi, General Manager of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Information and Culture Department of the said province, said that there are 114 shrines and ancient sites in Samangan Province, 106 of which are historical sites by the Heritage Protection Office.
One of this group is Takht Rustam Stone Stupa, which is located in the center of Samangan Province (Aibak), and has a history of about 2,500 years.
Mr. Azizi added that there are other historical areas in Samangan Province such as Old Balahisar, Khwaja Ismail Shrine, Rabatak Tomb, Qara Kamar Cave, Valley of Forty Girls, Genghis Takht, Sam Dalal, Panja Shah, Cave Tash and…
Also, Mr. Aziz expressed that with the arrival of the Islamic Emirate, the number of domestic and foreign guests has increased in this province and the income of this department has sagnificently increased compared to previous years.
