Over 10 killed as strategic base, 2 posts overrun in Shorabak

KANDHAR, Sep. 20 – Amid ongoing’ Operation Omari’, Mujahideen carried out coordinated attacks on a strategic enemy military base and 2 outposts in the surroundings of Srochahano area of Shorabak district overnight.

Attack of heavy and light arms lasted till midnight, overrunning both posts and the base forcing the enemy to flee leaving behind 10 corpses on the battle ground.

Meanwhile an enemy reinforcement APC approaching the scene was torn apart by an IED attack, leaving all gunmen killed or hurt inside.

A Dshk, 3 PKM machine guns, 2 RPG launchers, 7 rifles, 1 mortar tube, 5 communication devices, 2 motorbikes, 8000 PKM rounds, 5000 AK rifle ammo, 42 RPG rounds and other war equipment was recovered.

Later on Mujahideen destroyed the base and posts with explosives.

A Mujahid was also wounded during the operation.
