During a press conference at the Government Information and Media Center, officials from the National Statistics and Information Authority presented their annual performance report. They announced that 3,265,600 electronic ID cards were distributed in the past year, marking a 23% increase from the previous year.

Since the reinstatement of the Islamic Emirate, the total number of distributed electronic ID cards has exceeded 7.8 million, with a cumulative total of 13,868,000 issued since the process began.

To improve services, five Asan Khedmat offices have been activated in the capital and provinces, serving over 200,000 people with electronic ID card distribution, birth certificates, and other services.

The Asan Khedmat office has recently started operations in the United Arab Emirates, with plans to establish additional offices in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the provinces of Paktia, Faryab, Farah, and Kunduz.

Officials highlighted efforts to achieve precise statistics and data, conducting numerous surveys across various sectors last year, with findings shared with relevant authorities.

The authority reported that the country’s GDP reached $17.23 billion last year, a 2.7% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 2,023,000 hectares of land were planted with wheat, with production rising by 14.4%. Grain production reached 5,206,000 metric tons, and cotton production was 122,455 metric tons, showing increases of 13.2% and 68.9%, respectively.

Priority initiatives for this year include conducting surveys across various sectors, increasing the distribution of electronic ID cards to 4 million, establishing Asan Khedmat offices in Kabul, Balkh, Nangarhar, Helmand, and Herat, opening offices in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, and launching electronic ID card distribution offices in specific districts.
