KABUL, Jan. 09 – The National Procurement Commission has granted approval for 24 diverse projects, totaling approximately 10 billion Afghanis in a meeting chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the commission on Tuesday, at the Marmarin Palace to deliberate on projects outlined in the agenda.
During the meeting, 27 projects were presented for consideration, leading to the approval of contracts for 24 projects.
For the evaluation of the contracts associated with three projects, the Directorate of National Procurement and relevant ministries were tasked with conducting a comprehensive examination.
The findings will be reported to the leadership of the National Procurement Commission. The sanctioned projects span various ministries, including National Defense, Interior Affairs, Public Works, Communications and Information Technology, Public Health, Water and Energy, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and Kabul Municipality. The cumulative value of these projects is approximately 10 billion Afghanis.
Noteworthy among the approved initiatives are the construction of the Paranda MHPP Dam, the finalization of the Tori Dam in Zabul Province, essential road construction in Kabul City, electricity provision to citizens in provinces, the enhancement of high-quality and fast Internet services in remote areas, and several other ventures poised to generate employment opportunities for thousands of citizens.
