KABUL, Mar. 04 – The National Planting Campaign by the National Environmental Protection Agency and Kabul Municipality started with the planting of a sapling named (Victory and Progress), today.
Mawlwi Abdul Wakil Mutwakkel, the head of the Kabul Municipality’s fertility department, presented information regarding his department’s plans in the areas of planting saplings and fertility at the aforementioned ceremony, which was attended by high-ranking government officials, athletes, media representatives, and citizens. In collaboration with the populace, he claimed, Kabul’s beauty and fertility would soon be enhanced.
He discussed the importance of planting saplings from an Islamic perspective and described this work as having great reward and significance.
The Head of Greenery announced that during the planting season of 1402, Kabul Municipality will plant 600 thousand different types of saplings and ornamental plants in Kabul City. These saplings have been trained in accordance with Kabul’s climate.
He said that the programme to plant saplings was formally launched by the Kabul municipality on February 2nd, and that thousands of seedlings have already been planted throughout the city. Mr. Mutwakkel aspired for all citizens to share in the prosperity and beauty of Kabul and thereby carry out their civic and religious obligations.
Each speaker discussed the importance of trees and green spaces before making a commitment to work with the Kabul municipality to irrigate trees and green spaces.
The participants in the event planted 800 different kinds of seedlings produced by the Kabul Municipality on Nader Khan Tapa, and in the next days, this series will be expanded to other regions.
