American policy verses the current Jihadic Resistance is based on miscalculations and guesswork from the very beginning. During the last 15 years, these calculations have proved to be hollowed and futile but the American generals do not seem to learn from their blunders.

Sometimes ago, US Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff said that Taliban had been weakened, being slow to ramp up attacks. Still more, Commander of the invading forces in Afghanistan, John Nicholson, went a step further saying Taliban have lost their chance of success. Colloquially speaking, the ink of the words of his predictions in the media had not yet dried up, that Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate liberated vast areas and districts in Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Helmand, the greater Paktya……. still they have been advancing. Even if we take his statement for granted, then why did they need to send 800 more troops?

In 2009, when Generals McChrystal was nominated as commander of the American forces in Afghanistan, he predicted that with a surge of 30-40 thousand troops to Afghanistan, Taliban will face defeat. On the basis of this calculations, American troop’s level reached 100,000 in December 2009. This was in addition to the 50,000 allied troops already there but contrary to his prediction and calculations, they could not turn the tide of the Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate. The result was that General McChrystal fell out with the White House, even finding its way to media until he was finally sacked. The more the still is hammered, the more it hardens.

General David Petraeus who had achievements in Iraq as he put it, boasted in front of media in 2010 following his nomination as Commander-in-Chief in Afghanistan that he would quash the current Jihadic resistance in Afghanistan on the basis of experiences obtained in Iraq. Thereby he ramped up blind bombardments and night raids in an unprecedented manner, forming militias, arbakis and killing many innocent Afghans in the courtyard of their houses and in the front of their families but gained no achievements apart from committing civilian massacres. On the ground all his predictions and analysis came to nothing. Then there was a time when he appeared before the Armed Services Committee of the American Senate– held about the military situation in Afghanistan –to question him in the light of his previous calculations and predictions but he passed out as about to be asked questions by Senator John McCain. Thus he saved himself from exasperating questions. This and many other practical examples show the flawed and misleading analysis and calculations of the Americans generals about Afghanistan. It is to be said that either the American generals want to keep the American public and the world misinformed about the real situation in Afghanistan; prolong the war and sustain their privileges, or America and other invading countries of Afghanistan think that they are fighting a faction which they will uproot.

But they have forgotten or ignore the fact that they are fighting against the people of Afghanistan who have girded up their loins in defense of their faith and country, using their very chests as shield, bearing the brunt of the most sophisticated weapons of our time. The American rulers and generals should bear in mind that they are facing a populous uprising which has Islamic, humane and legitimate objectives. Don’t tie this sacred uprising with (your slogan of) the so-called terrorism nor will you be able to hamper this uprising by miscalculation and futile predictions. Instead, if the aim is to end the war, think over the practical solution of the issue of Afghanistan and come with a rational peaceful way of exit for your troops. We believe well-being and rationality lie in this.
