The Acting Minister of Rural Development and Reconstruction engaged in discussions with a delegation led by Chinese Ambassador Zhaoxing in Afghanistan. The main focus of the meeting revolved around the ongoing road construction project from Wakhan to the Chinese border.

 

During the visit, the Chinese ambassador reiterated their country’s commitment to cooperating with Afghanistan in the implementation and development of essential infrastructure projects. Emphasizing the importance of this collaboration, he highlighted China’s continued support for Afghanistan’s development endeavors.

 

In response, Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada expressed gratitude to the Islamic Emirate for China’s cooperation in both political and economic spheres. He also provided an update on the progress of the road construction project, stating that the initial works are advancing rapidly and will soon connect to the Chinese border. The Minister of Rural Development and Reconstruction underscored the significant role that the road’s basic reconstruction plays in strengthening the economies of both countries. Furthermore, he highlighted the potential of this road to serve as a convenient and beneficial route for Afghanistan, China, and Central Asian countries.
