Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, held a meeting with Irfan Jamal, the Director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Afghanistan.

During this discussion, focused on the aid provided to Afghan refugees and strategies to address their challenges, Mr. Irfan Jamal affirmed the sustained support for Afghan refugees and emphasized the commitment of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Afghanistan to fulfill obligations and assist the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation of the Islamic Emirate.

He highlighted ongoing dialogues with Iranian and Pakistani authorities to ensure a systematic repatriation process for Afghan refugees, preventing disorderly returns and promoting organized repatriation plans.

Mr. Irfan Jamal outlined the convening of multi-day meetings to address the issues faced by Afghan refugees and stressed the necessity of cooperation from all stakeholders in this endeavor.

In response, Acting Minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts and collaboration of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Afghanistan, emphasizing the significance of their assistance to Afghan refugees.

He affirmed the Islamic Emirate’s support for such meetings and conveyed confidence in the Afghan government’s willingness to provide necessary cooperation. Moreover, he acknowledged the aid from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, ensuring transparent delivery of assistance to those in need.
