As per a statement of the ministry public works of the IEA, On the 6th of Ramadan, 1446 AH, Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Issa Sani, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Public Works, convened a meeting with Aibak Usmanov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Kabul.

The meeting, which took place in the minister’s office and was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Technical and Railway Affairs of the Ministry, centered on discussions about fostering long-term economic, trade, and railway relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

The deliberations during the meeting focused on crucial topics such as the restoration of the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway line, the facilitation of trade goods transportation between the two nations, and the feasibility studies concerning the Balkh-Herat railway line.

The parties reiterated their commitment to comprehensive cooperation in the realms of economic relations, trade activities, and the development, refurbishment, and standardization of the railway network connecting Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
