KABUL, Apr. 01 – The Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, met with the representative of the Chinese state-owned contractor for the Aynak copper project in China.

The meeting held a long discussion on the commencement of the Aynak copper project. Sheikh Dilawar expressed that all conditions have been prepared in Afghanistan for the commencement of the Aynak copper project, stressing that work on the project should begun without any further delay.

Sheikh Dilawar also mentioned in many cases that the Aynak copper project should be executed by the MCC under a written contract and the implementation process should start as the financial payment have several time been paid to the contractor.

Sheikh Dilawar said that the Islamic Emirate is committed to everything that is mentioned in the text of the agreement. He said that the Ministries of Mines, Information and Culture are working together on a mechanism to Move the objects to a safe place and remove obstacles in the way of extraction.

A representative of Aynak Copper Company said that the new government in Afghanistan has paved the way for the implementation of the contracted project, adding that a competent technical and economic team will be sent to Kabul in the near future. To investigate the issues that need to be investigated before starting the project.

The MCC representative called on the new government of Afghanistan to provide a mechanism for Chinese investors to invest in China so that Chinese businessmen can invest in Afghanistan by launching economic projects.
