Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, engaged in discussions with Mohammad Sadiq Khan, the Special Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation this afternoon.

The primary focus of the meeting was to address trade and transit challenges existing between the two nations, mitigate the impact of political tensions on economic ties, and resolve significant economic matters.

During the interaction, both parties underscored the significance of regular bilateral dialogues, normalization of trade relations, finalization of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), and resolution of issues pertaining to the Afghanistan-Pakistan Trade-Transit Agreement (APTTA). Additionally, they deliberated on the forthcoming visit of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister to Afghanistan, the scheduled visit of a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Pakistan, assessment of trade impediments, meeting seasonal demands, and fostering economic growth in Afghanistan.

Mr. Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi expressed appreciation for the meeting, highlighting it as a positive and constructive stride towards fortifying bilateral relations, particularly in the realm of trade. He emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts to eliminate export-import barriers and viewed the upcoming agricultural season as an opportunity to enhance economic exchanges between the two countries.
