KABUL, Aug. 27 – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the IEA Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with a 7-member delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Assembly of Representatives, led by Javad Karimi Qudousi, today in Kabul, said deputy spokesman of the ministry of foreign affairs.

In-depth discussions on security, the war on drugs, preventing smuggling, securing the border, and trade took place at this summit.
In this meeting, the minister of foreign affairs declared that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has brought entire security to the nation and that the Afghan security forces have been successful in eradicating the Daesh terrorist phenomena. Instead, it is for the benefit of the world’s nations as well as the region.

He continued by saying that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had implemented successful steps to combat drug use, and poppy farming had almost completely disappeared.
According to Mr. Muttaqi, Afghanistan only had thousands of drug users during the previous Emirate era, but after the 20-year occupation, this figure increased to 4 million addicts. the IEA has treated tens of thousands of drug addicts and continues to do so.

According to the minister of foreign affairs, Afghanistan is currently developing into a hub of connectivity between the nations, with trade and transit taking place with the region’s nations, including the neighbors.
He stressed that as Afghanistan is a good market for Iranian industrial products, Afghanistan and Iran must build more facilities for trade and transportation in order to fully capitalize on this opportunity.

In this meeting, members of Iran’s House of Representatives stressed the need for cooperation between the two sides to manage border issues, stop the flow of unauthorized individuals, and prevent smuggling.
They further stated that Iran is prepared to frequently exchange experiences with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
