KABuL, Dec. 31 – During a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center, Honorable Mawlawi Muhammad Yaqub Mujahid, the Minister of National Defense and the Chairman of the Security clearance Commission, shared information about achievements and addressed the security situation on Sunday.

Mr. Mujahid reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement made in Doha to end the occupation. He highlighted that the activities of malicious and divisive groups have decreased by 90 percent, emphasizing that the Daesh project has no roots in Afghanistan. He urged the creators and donors of ISIS to understand this fact.

Furthermore, he highlighted that certain internal and external elements are spreading false information to raise concerns about Afghanistan in the region and globally. Mr. Mujahid called on countries in the region and the world not to believe such false reports.

Regarding recent incidents, Mr. Mujahid mentioned that after the conquest, foreign nationals, particularly Tajik and Pakistani individuals, were involved in attacks on mosques, religious scholars, monasteries, and public gatherings. Security forces engaged in clashes with these individuals, resulting in casualties and arrests. Mr. Mujahid urged the countries from where these elements enter Afghanistan to control their borders.

Emphasizing that evil and corruption have no place in Afghanistan and only exist in the virtual world, Mr. Mujahid urged individuals involved in such activities to take advantage of the general amnesty. He warned against allowing other countries to exploit them as proxies and mercenaries.

Mr. Mujahid highlighted the success of the security forces in defeating kidnappers and armed/unarmed robbers. Numerous suspects were killed or arrested, and over 200 Afghans were rescued from their clutches. He also disputed claims about arms trafficking, stating that such claims are far from the truth and baseless, as arms trafficking has been effectively prevented and arms are secure.

Mr. Mujahid acknowledged the implementation of the Supreme Leader of the Amir-ul-Momineen decree by the security forces. As a result, 834 drug processing factories, 57 alcohol production facilities, and 22 drug tablet factories were destroyed. Additionally, 8,282 suspects were arrested, 13,903 hectares of poppy fields were cleared, and 95,205 addicts received treatment in rehabilitation centers.
