The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of the Islamic Emirate, Maulvi Ataullah Omari, led a prominent delegation from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan to engage in discussions with Uzbekistani authorities regarding regional collaboration and key agricultural matters.
The primary objective of this visit is to address the challenges posed by climate change on the water reserves of the Amu Darya River basin while fostering enhanced cooperation between the two nations in agriculture, irrigation, livestock management, food security, capacity building, and related spheres.
Accompanying the minister are a diverse array of officials including the Deputy Minister of Energy and Water, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs overseeing Counter-Narcotics, the Construction Director from the Ministry of Defense, the Economic Director representing the Economic Deputy Ministry of the Presidency, the Administrative Director from the Ministry of Agriculture, Qari Mohammad Akbar Amini, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, Mirwais Khogyani, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Directorate of Intelligence, the Administration of Affairs, along with experts from the Ministries of Agriculture and Energy and Water.
The Afghan delegation is slated to engage in discussions with key Uzbekistani counterparts from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy and Water, aiming to foster collaborative efforts, share technical expertise, and explore future joint initiatives. This visit underscores the commitment to fortifying technical and economic partnerships between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, with the overarching goal of nurturing bilateral relations and mutual development.
