Through the endeavors of the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, a dairy processing plant valued at approximately 42 million Afghanis is being erected in the heart of Lashkargah by a private entity on land allocated by the Department of Agriculture.

This facility is being established by a private firm under an agreement on the designated premises of the Department of Agriculture, where it is anticipated that 40 metric tons of milk will be processed daily, with the resulting dairy products distributed to various provinces, including Helmand.

Although this factory had been operational in the past, certain sections had fallen into disrepair. Presently, with the backing of the Islamic Emirate, it is undergoing reconstruction after years of neglect. The facility will also create a market for the milk produced by local farmers.

The Helmand province’s Department of Agriculture is striving to formulate and execute fundamental and impactful ventures within the region, having already taken concrete steps in this regard.
