KABUL, Oct. 30 – The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhand, met this morning with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and his accompanying delegation at the presidential place.

The meeting was also attended by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister, and a number of other officials of the Islamic Emirate, both sides discussed Afghanistan-Turkmenistan relations, economic cooperation, and transit and joint projects.

Welcoming the Turkmen delegation, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhand, thanked the Turkmen delegation for its cooperation with Afghanistan and said that the relations between the two countries are historic and good.

Later on, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said that we support joint projects between the two countries, including the railway, TAPI, and fibre optics, and that it is in the interest of both countries. thanking the Turkmen government in the political, security and economic sectors he said that the continuation and implementation of joint infrastructure and development projects would be useful for improvement the economies of both countries also adding that we want to start national projects between the two countries as soon as possible, because all the necessary conditions, including secure security, have been provided for its implementation.

The Turkmen Foreign Minister said that our relations have always been in the interest of both countries and the presence of the representatives of the Islamic Emirate in international meetings is an urgent necessity.
The Turkmen Foreign Minister assured the continuation of his country’s cooperation in the field of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and the implementation of joint projects between the two countries, and called it useful for the welfare of the people of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan and the expansion of regional cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqub, Acting Minister of Defense, said that we will ensure the security of infrastructure and economic projects between the two countries adding that since security has been ensured throughout the country, it is a better time than ever to implement these projects.
